We headed from Bologna to Kamnik ( Slovenia ) within 4 hours and stayed with our kids at Terme Snovik. (30 kms from Ljubljana)
Staff is super friendly, swimming pool is good (and fortunately an indoor swimming pool in bad weather) and there are many beautiful things to see in the area. From Terme Snovik there is plenty to see in the area (a car is needed). Ljubljana is about a 50 minute drive and Kamnik (the first slightly less small town) is about a 15 minute drive.
You can easily reach Slovenia from Italy within a couple hrs with the car like we did.

The kids absolutely loved it, when we arrived the rooms were equipped with child-friendly items such as coloring books, crayons and reading books.
You may relax at the full-service spa, where you can enjoy massages, body treatments, and facials. You can enjoy recreational amenities such as 2 outdoor swimming pools in summer which has a a waterslide.
We enjoyed the indoor thermal pool which was great for the kids, not cold at all! Super relaxing. They had a night swimming on Friday which was greatly appreciated! The pools were open untill 10 PM.
We dined in the restaurant and the food was very good, various and delicious! They have kids chairs available which is super.
A buffet breakfast is also served every morning. Breakfast is always varied – across the spectrum of tastes – and always very fresh and well presented. Coffee of all kinds is available and very drinkable. Supper similarly wide-ranging, tasty and easy to digest.
At the end of the day, you can relax with a drink at the bar/lounge or pool bar.
The hotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access.
The terme Snovik park has thermal pools, indoor and we had a wonderful Easter weekend here.
+ last but not least; the views were amazing and it was quiet and peaceful. Such a relaxing place. The location is one of the most attractive in Slovenia, with forests and mountains within walking distance. Snovik is a brilliant place to stay!
