First, more about the history of the Villa Doria Pamphilj park
Built in the seventeenth century for the Pamphili family. They lived here until the eighteenth century. After that, the villa was inhabited by Prince Giovanni Andrea IV Doria
It is not certain who the architect was. It is suspected Algardi (not an architect himself) with the help of Carlo Rainaldi and Grimaldi
The family mainly used the house as an exhibition space for their art collection, which includes paintings, sculptures and vases. The villa is now a museum. You can not only admire the well-preserved art collection here, but also the fully furnished apartments

The park is located on the Gianicolo hill on Via Aurelia Antica. Villa Doria Pamphilj can be accessed from different main locations: Via Leone XIII, Via Largo Casale Vigna Vecchia and Via San Pancrazio.
