Our Visit to the Cars Collection of the Prince of Monaco

A month ago we visited The Private Collection of Antique Cars of H.S.H. Prince Rainier III when we travel to Nice and traveled 1 day to Monaco

In the late 1950s, motoring enthusiast Prince Rainier III began his collection of classic cars. Over the years, the collection grew. So in 1993, Prince Rainier III decided to put his car collection on public display.

This 3,500 m2 exhibition, comprises around 70 vehicles including racing cars that have competed in the Monte-Carlo Rally and the Monaco F1 Grand Prix.

You can see some pretty unique cars such as the Chrysler that Prince Rainier had brought over specially from the USA to collect Princess Grace at the port, or the landaulet Lexus built for the wedding of H.S.H. Prince Albert II in 2011.

There is also a space dedicated to a selection of racing cars, with models that demonstrated their prowess in Formula 1, the Monte-Carlo Rally, or the Paris-Dakar Rally. As soon as you enter you are in a mecca for the car enthusiast.

A great classic, from old to fairly new formula 1 cars. And then a collection that starts at the end of the 19th century with the carriages, through the first cars with oil lamps, to the classics from the 50s/60s to modern cars.

Many unique and special specimens. Enough for a good hour of fun.

When we were there it was quite quiet and you could take extensive photos. This collection is definitely worth a look, especially if you combine the purchase of the entrance ticket with a ticket for a visit to the palace.

It is not very big but there are enough cars to dream away. From old-fashioned carriages and carriages to Formula 1 racing cars. You don’t have to spend hours there, which makes it a great way to spend your time.

In short, if you are somewhat interested in cars and curious about what the Prince has in his possession, I would definitely recommend a visit.

I am not an exaggerated car enthusiast myself, but I found this visit highly recommended if you are in Monaco.

The price is okay and it’s really nice inside. Our visit took less than an hour and that was fine.

They are open every day from 10am to 5pm.
Adults pay 10 euros and children from 6 years 5 euros.
